Ivy Essay Coach is a service of Scholar Coach, Inc. ("Scholar Coach," "we," "us"). This policy explains what information we collect through ivyessaycoach.com, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us. When you sign up, request a session, or contact us, we collect your name, email address, phone number, the student's first name, your application deadline, and the details you choose to share, including essay drafts and application materials you send us for coaching.
Payment information. Payments are processed by Square. Your card details go directly to Square and are never stored on our site. Square's privacy policy applies to that information.
Information collected automatically. We and our service providers use cookies and similar technologies to collect device and usage data, such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and referring site.
2. How we use information
- To respond to your request, schedule sessions, and provide essay coaching.
- To send service messages, such as a confirmation that we received your sign-up and a receipt for payment.
- To understand how our site is used.
- To protect the site, prevent fraud and abuse, and meet legal obligations.
3. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. We share information only with service providers that process it on our behalf:
- Web3Forms: delivers website form submissions to us.
- Square: processes payments and sends receipts.
- Google Fonts: serves the typefaces on this site.
- Cloudflare: hosting, security, and site analytics.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a sale or transfer of our business.
4. Your essays stay yours
Drafts and application materials you share with us are used only to coach you. We do not publish them, use them as samples, or share them with other students. Anonymized examples appear on our site only with identifying details changed.
5. Cookies and tracking choices
Cookies help our site work and let us measure traffic. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. We honor browser opt-out signals such as Global Privacy Control where the law requires it.
6. Children and students
Our services are for students applying to college, and we primarily communicate with parents and guardians. Our website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from them online. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
7. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live (including California, New Jersey, and other states with privacy laws), you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, access or correct it, delete it, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information or targeted advertising. We do not sell or share personal information for advertising. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. Residents of the EU and UK may also have rights under the GDPR; contact us to exercise them.
8. Retention and security
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as the law requires, then delete or de-identify it. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards, but no system is completely secure.
9. Calls, texts, and email
If you give us your phone number, we may call or text you about your sign-up or services. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to a text to opt out. We do not share mobile phone numbers with third parties for their marketing.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The effective date above shows the current version, and material changes will be posted on this page.
