These terms govern your purchase and use of essay coaching from Ivy Essay Coach, a service of Scholar Coach, Inc. ("we," "us"). By signing up or paying, you agree to them.
1. What we provide
One-on-one coaching on college application writing: the Story Session, the Personal Statement package, and the Full Application package, as described on our pricing page at the time of purchase. We coach; the student writes. We do not write essays for students, and we never invent facts, experiences, or achievements.
2. Who may purchase
A parent or legal guardian must make the purchase for any student under 18 and is the party to these terms. The student may take part in sessions with that parent's or guardian's consent.
3. Payment
Prices are in U.S. dollars and are shown on the pricing page. Payment is collected in advance through Square. You will receive a receipt from Square by email. We do not store card details.
4. Our guarantee
- The Story Session is fully refundable. If you decide not to continue after your Story Session, for any reason, tell us within 7 days of the session and we will refund it in full. You keep the notes and the story map we produced.
- An essay that does not meet the standard is not billed. Before we call an essay finished, it must pass all twelve checks in our published standard. We keep revising at no extra cost until it does. If it cannot pass, that essay is not billed and we refund its share of the package price.
The guarantee covers the quality of the essays we coach. It does not cover an essay the student chooses to submit before we have called it finished, or essays written without our coaching.
5. What we do not promise
We do not guarantee, predict, or promise admission to any college or university, scholarship, or financial aid outcome. Admissions decisions are made solely by each institution. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by the Ivy League or any university.
6. Your responsibilities
You agree to provide truthful information about the student, to meet the schedule we agree on so deadlines can be met, and to make sure every submitted essay is the student's own work. Each college sets its own rules on outside help; you are responsible for following them.
7. Deadlines
Great essays take three to four weeks. We will tell you at sign-up whether we can meet your deadline. If we cannot, we will say so before you pay or refund you in full.
8. Confidentiality
Everything you share with us stays confidential and is used only to coach you, as described in our Privacy Policy.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from our services is limited to the amount you paid us for the package in question.
10. Changes and governing law
We may update these terms; the version in effect when you purchase applies to that purchase. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey.
